Dr. Spearing’s lab uses a sociotechnical systems lens to improve infrastructure systems management, creating more sustainable, resilient, and equitable service for communities. Prospective students will work on projects that aim to understand infrastructure operations during uncertain contexts (e.g., disasters) and to improve the level of water services received by end-users (e.g., replacing lead pipelines, water access in underserved communities).
